Bandwagon, jumped.
Just heard that Terry Pratchett has died.
I’ve never read any of his books and won’t be anytime soon, as I don’t like science fiction. Gritty realism is more my thing.
But from everything I’ve heard about him, especially since he was diagnosed with Alzheimers, he sounds like he was a really decent bloke.
In fact, I only found out he died through someone on Twitter posting a quote from him.

Why being out of recession isn’t completely good news for hiring companies.
The recession is over and everyone is confident.
Companies are hiring and recruiters everywhere are happy – especially agency recruiters.
Recruiters are trumpeting how well the industry is doing, whilst conveniently forgetting that a huge chunk (91% to be exact) of its reported near £30 billion UK turnover comes from the temp/contract market where the margins are far lower than in permanent recruitment.
The “War for Talent” is back on. Hell, one bloke even went further..

Faking Hell
Social media is brilliant.
Anything that democratises the way information is shared and engaged with has to be a positive step in our evolutionary journey.
But like everything, it has a dark side.
One of those dark sides is that it feeds into the narcissism that all of us have to some extent. And one of the ways this narcissism manifests itself is in number-envy.
