Everybody claiming to ‘revolutionise recruitment’ seems to be doing so by offering a cheap service.
Whether it be a job board, a flat-fee service or just an agency charging less than 12% per placement – all of them seem to be admitting that the game’s up and that they’re finally charging fees that are consistent with a service that’s still mostly about throwing lots of CVs at lots of jobs.
And hoping.
That’s some real collective low self-esteem right…

To all those people getting giddy about the “power of social media”

If you still talk shit, people will still ignore you.
They’ll just ignore you in more places.
Seriously, that’s all it means.
The people who are great at social media now, were great with the more traditional (aka more expensive) stuff because social media only democratises marketing for the people who already had some talent in that area.
Everyone else needs a rethink.

Before deciding to apply for a job at a recruitment agency, first check out whether they have an internal recruiter.
If they do, take a look at that internal recruiter’s profile on LinkedIn.
