I started out in recruitment 20 years ago. I did the normal contingency agency role as Consultant, Manager then Troubleshooter for a couple of the large UK national sales recruitment specialists before moving to Geneva, Switzerland.
There I set-up a different kind of search and selection business – one that focused on using innovative recruitment communications as its primary source of recruiting local talent for the large multinational businesses that reside there and which combined hard-nosed commercial consultancy with creative recruitment marketing. It proved very popular with the locals. Further innovation followed in the shape of the region’s first ever online candidate database web portal called virtualjobagency.com.
On returning to the UK in 2005, I broadened my appreciation of corporate recruiting by working as an Interim Recruitment Manager for a number of large UK corporates, helping them to develop their direct sourcing and employment branding capabilities and filling jobs they and their external agency partners were struggling with. In 2009, Fast-Track was set up to offer what has already been described elsewhere on this site.
Here’s a sample of some of the things people have said about me:
“Mitch has just completed a project to help us recruit four Sales Account Managers. It is my pleasure to recommend his work. He is quite simply a brilliant recruiter” – CEO of an employment services firm
“My experience of working with Mitch was very positive. He demonstrated a real passion for positive change and with his experience and style, made things happen” – Trading Director of a major food company
“I was impressed with the quality and depth of candidate choice Mitch sourced, interviewed and assessed. This all made my task of final interviewing and selecting the best candidate relatively simple and definitely cost-effective. I will use Fast-Track again” – Commercial Director of a well known film distribution company
“Mitch worked for us as an Interim Staffing Consultant and during this time implemented a number of highly innovative and creative ways of working” – Senior HR Manager of a large FMCG company
“I wasn’t all that impressed with Mitch and won’t be using him again” – Mitch Sullivan’s ex-wife
“Mitch is a really good recruitment copywriter. Not as good as me, but pretty good nonetheless” – Creative Director of a leading recruitment marketing agency who has won more creative advertising awards than any other person in the UK
