Becoming frustrated with the inordinate amount of time you spend chasing people who probably don’t want to talk to you?

Sales doesn’t have to be this cold.

The constant rejection.

The obstruction from gatekeepers.

And training that amounts to little more than being told to “smile and dial” at a faster rate to improve your odds.

This sales job is a far cry from having to make loads of cold calls every day. Here, the lead generation is dealt with by another department, so you can focus on closing.

Your base salary would be £21,000 plus commission and you’re looking at a realistic first year OTE of between £28,000-£32,000, which could easily double within 3-4 years. You’ll also get a MacBook and iPhone, as well as sales, public speaking, and leadership training to help with your growth.

Who’s the hiring company?

They’re called Turvec Solutions and you’ll learn all about their products (Bike Racks, Stands, Shelters and Repair Stations) as well as develop a deeper understanding of both short and long sales cycles within construction and local authorities.

You’d be joining a current team of 10 people and they have plans to grow significantly over the next few years. Unlike many start-ups, theirs is a healthy culture underpinned by maturity, cohesion, and solid planning which gives everyone equal opportunities to thrive.

Once settled, you’ll start by handling around 3-4 leads a day, which will increase as you get more experience. You’ll workout estimating times and materials through a digital system and by working closely with the design team. You’ll then quote the job, follow up, and finally close. It’s through your closing rate that you’ll be assessed on how well you’re doing.

To start, there’s a 3-month onboarding process of structured training that will ease you into speaking with prospective clients and writing your first pieces of business.

Who are you?

You’ll need between 1-2 years sales experience in an environment where part of your job involves generating leads (either for yourself or others) via the phone. That experience can come from any B2B sector.

If you’ve got an interest in cycling, that could help, but it will never be a replacement for your ability to close.

There’s a hybrid working setup, switching between home and the office once you’ve been through the onboarding period. This onboarding will be predominately in-person at the office, so you’ll need to be able to commute to Farringdon during the first 8 weeks.
